“SurePrint Limited is a software solutions company that’s constantly striving to deliver accessible and innovative solutions which increase user productivity while reducing costs. As part of our commitment to improving business efficiency for our customers, we have launched PDQit; a revolutionary new way to approach business mail that can pass on significant savings to the end user. Through the PDQit software, users send their documents straight from their computers to us at the touch of a button. All print jobs come through to our mini-mailroom and we then print them out, place them in envelopes and distribute them accordingly. However, before launching the new software, we knew it would be crucial to have cost effective, high speed, high quality printers in place to ensure that the operation ran smoothly.”
The decision
“When it came to purchasing printers for our mini-mailroom, we knew it was extremely important to choose wisely. Having no pre-conceived ideas about the printing marketplace, we researched most manufacturers and road tested amongst others, Hewlett Packard, Brother and Samsung machines. However, we had also become aware of Kyocera’s marketing messages claiming their printers had a low cost of ownership, a very high reliability factor and a forward looking environmental policy. Because of this, we decided to include their product offerings into our evaluation as well”
“One of our main requirements influencing our final purchase decision was the ability to print a lot of documents in as short a time as possible. For instance, at a speed equivalent to a high capacity machine such as a Xerox Docutech 110. However, we also wanted reliability and a significantly lower capital investment. We quickly realised that three Kyocera FS-4000DN’s would do everything we wanted for a fraction of the cost of a Docutech or other similar offerings. This was the deciding factor for us and we wasted no time in investing in four Kyocera FS-4000DN’s for our mono output and four Kyocera FS-C5030N machines for our colour work”
“It has now been two months since our mailroom went fully functional and we are extremely pleased with our purchases. The Kyocera machines provide us with everything our business model demands. They are proving to be extremely reliable (not one paper jam in two months of high usage), very efficient and economical with consumables, thereby fulfilling all of our requirements and confirming Kyocera’s of low total cost of ownership. In addition, with the Ecosys system, we are delivering an exceptional service to our customers with the least environmental impact possible”
Future plans
Mr Sykes also explains how Kyocera will play a key role in the future of PDQit; “As our mailroom operation expands, we will be looking to extend the capabilities of our in-house facility and this will no doubt involve the purchase of more Kyocera printers to meet the growing requirements. We are also engaging several solutions partners who will be looking to clone our facility in order to provide a fully automated mail solution for their own customers.”
