Charity support

Reading FC Royal Families
Kyocera Mita (UK) Ltd is proud to be a founder sponsor of the Reading FC Royal Families Charity. The charity, which is headed up by the wives and girlfriends of Reading FC players, carries out fundraising activities throughout the year to support local charities. The Royal Families have raised £80,000 so far in the 2007-2008 season.

The Meningitis Trust
Every year Kyocera Mita (UK) organises a toddle waddle in support of the Meningitis Trust, a charity that was founded in 1985 after a severe outbreak of the disease in 1985 in the Stroud and Stonehouse area of the UK. We invite local toddlers to get sponsored to "waddle" a lap of the Madejski Stadium pitch. This year the children raised in excess of £3000 at the Kyocera Toddle Waddle.

cape2cape

Kyocera sponsor the spectacular mountain climbing expedition cape2cape, to help raise awareness in the worldwide fight against HIV/AIDS.  Led by adventurer and endurance athlete Joachim Franz, the cape2cape team scale 18 mountains in nine weeks, starting with the North Cape in Norway and finishing with the South Cape in South Africa. As part Kyocera’s sponsorship, the team’s tour bus and equipment  bear the Kyocera logo and a Kyocera colour printer will be with the team to produce all relevant documents.

Community Support

Connect Reading
Kyocera is a founder member of Reading's business-community partnership organisation, Connect Reading.
Connect Reading helps the business, voluntary and private sectors to work more effectively together in pursuit of common objectives. It is about the coincidence of commercial and social opportunity. Better decision making, better resourcing, better business and better living - for all Reading's citizens. In a relatively short time Connect Reading has demonstrated that genuine, strategic improvements in quality of life can be delivered relatively quickly by effective partnership working.

The Pride of Reading Awards
Kyocera was the winner of the Responsible Business Award at the inaugural Pride of Reading Awards in 2005. Since then we have become annual sponsors of the Business in Action category of the Awards. The Business in Action category recognises those companies that are working to make a real difference in their local community through environmental, charitable or voluntary activities.

Reading Museum
Kyocera recognises that a business has a responsibility to preserve and learn from the past in order to work towards a successful, sustainable future. We are a corporate sponsor of Reading Museum, supporting the Museum Service in offering lifelong learning opportunities to the local community through original documents, artworks and objects.
